Terms of Service

Last updated 24 October 2026

The short version

  • Sortfold is free to use today. What you put in stays yours.
  • Use it lawfully, and do not try to break it or reach other people’s things.
  • If paid plans ever start, everyone who joined before that day keeps everything, free, for as long as Sortfold runs.
  • We work hard to keep it running, but it comes as it is. Keep copies of anything you cannot lose.
  • You can leave and delete everything at any time.

1. These terms

Sortfold is run by Sarmad Aslam, an individual based in Pakistan (“we”, “us”). By using Sortfold, with or without an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age in your country if it is higher. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

3. Guests and accounts

  • Without an account, your things are tied to the browser you use. If its data is cleared, they cannot be recovered. Create an account to keep them safe.
  • With an account, use an email address you control and keep your password to yourself. One account is for one person. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using yours.

4. Your things are yours

Everything you put in Sortfold belongs to you. You let us store, encrypt, back up, process and show it to you, only to run Sortfold for you. That permission ends when you delete it (backups clear within 7 days). We do not sell your things, use them to train AI, or read them, except as our Privacy Policy explains.

5. Using it fairly

Please do not:

  • break the law, or store anything illegal in Sortfold;
  • try to reach other people’s things, get around our security, or overload the service;
  • use bots or scripts to create accounts or pull data out of the service;
  • sell, rent or rebrand Sortfold as your own service;
  • paste a calendar link you are not allowed to use.

Found a security problem? Our Security page says how to report it safely.

6. Calendar links

When you paste a calendar link, our server reads that calendar so you can see your events. We only read it; we never change your calendar. You can disconnect it at any time.

7. Not professional advice

Money is a personal log, not financial or tax advice. Journal and Habits are for your own use, not medical advice or a medical device. For those, please ask a professional.

8. Price, and our promise to early users

  • Sortfold is free today.
  • Our promise: if we ever start paid plans, every account created before that day keeps every feature Sortfold has on that day, free, for as long as Sortfold runs.
  • We announce any paid plan in the app at least 30 days before it starts.
  • Paid plans would come with their own terms, shown before you pay. A trial will never ask for a card, and we never charge you without you completing a checkout yourself.

9. Changes to Sortfold

We may add, change or remove features to make Sortfold better. When a change removes something important, we tell you in advance whenever we can. If we ever close Sortfold, we give you at least 60 days’ notice and a way to download your things.

10. Leaving, and closing accounts

You can stop at any time and delete everything in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other people or the service at risk. We tell you why, unless the law or safety stops us, and where it is fair we give you a chance to fix it or to take your things out first.

11. Reporting illegal content, and our contact point

To report something illegal, or for any official request, email msarmadaslam@gmail.com. This is our single point of contact for users and authorities, in English. We look into every report promptly and tell you what we decided.

12. What we can promise

We take reasonable care, but Sortfold is free and comes “as is” and “as available”. We cannot promise it will never stop or never have mistakes, so please keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. This does not take away any rights the law gives you as a consumer.

13. Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities. Our total responsibility for all claims is limited to 100 US dollars, or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or deliberate wrongdoing, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for good reasons, such as new features, new laws or security. If a change matters, we tell you in the app, and by email if you have an account, at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Sortfold and delete your things. If you keep using it after that, the new terms apply.

15. Law and disputes

These terms follow the laws of Pakistan. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of your own country’s laws that cannot be set aside, and you can take a claim to your local courts. Please contact us first: we will try to fix any problem within 30 days.

16. The rest

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us. If a part turns out to be invalid, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something at once, we can still do it later. You may not transfer your account to someone else. We may pass Sortfold to a company or a new owner who keeps these terms, and we tell you first.
